Day 2
Hello guys, welcome to day 2 of this course. In this lesson we see about the environments we need to use to write HTML code and about saving the html files and about extension of the files. Okay let’s get started.
HTML is a case insensitive language that means we can use either capital letters or small letters of mixing of both. For example have a look on the code snippet below.
1. <!DOCTYPE html>
2. <!DOCTYPE Html>
3. <!Doctype HtMl>
Don’t worry about this now I will explain you soon. In the above code snippet you just need to see that we can write HTML code in any way it doesn’t matter it will run and work same. But according to recommendations of W3C small letters are more preferable.
Where to write code and how to save it?
Generally, for HTML code we can use any type of text editors like notepad in Windows and gedit in Linux. You need to save the files in .html or .htm formats but .html is more preferable.
Although Notepad and gedit are available they will okay if you are writing some 10 lines of code but still it’s very hard to align and read the code. Here I will recommend you some code editors available in the market you can download them and set your environment ready for tomorrow.
